Two guitars once owned by the mighty Eddie Van Halen are headed to the auction block when Julien's hosts its 'Icons and Idols Trilogy' auction next December. A 2004 EVH Charvel Art Series electric guitar, hand-striped and signed by Van Halen himself, will headline December 4th's auction. Van Halen's smoking habit gave the guitar's front a "customized" cigarette burn. December 5th's auction headliner will be a customized electric guitar built by Van Halen and his guitar tech, Matt Bruck, at the guitarist's 5150 studios. The guitar also comes with a white Van Halen guitar pic and two backstage passes. Julien's Auctions says each guitar is expected to fetch between $40,000 and $80,000.
