Beach Boys founder Brian Wilson is urging fans of the band to boycott their upcoming gig at a trophy-hunting convention. "This organization supports trophy hunting," the 77-year-old Wilson tweeted Monday along with a link to a Change.org petition titled, "Tell the Beach Boys to Say No to Trophy Hunting!" Wilson added, "There’s nothing we can do personally to stop the show, so please join us in signing the petition." BBC News reports that the Safari Club International Convention--which is believed to unofficially sanction illegal animal killings--will take place Wednesday in Reno, Nevada, with Donald Trump, Jr. as a featured speaker. Meanwhile, fellow founding member Mike Love responded in a statement, "We look forward to a night of great music in Reno and, as always, support freedom of thought and expression as a fundamental tenet of our rights as Americans." As of Tuesday morning, the petition had collected more than 79,000 signatures.
