On Tuesday, Elton John announced his intention to donate a million dollars to Australian bush fire relief efforts, according to CNN. The star, who is on his Farewell, Yellow Brick Road tour, announced his donation during his Sydney concert. "It's an apocalyptic, absolute disaster," the singer said. "There are people out there who have lost their lives trying to save homes, there are people who have lost their lives and their homes," he added. "And lastly, there's the plight of the animals, a loss of their habitat that frankly is on a biblical scale and it's heartbreaking. Therefore tonight, I will be pledging $1 million dollars to support the bushfire relief fund." The singer-songwriter has three more concert dates in Australia in the next week.
