Barbie manufacturer Mattel has released a special edition of its iconic doll dressed up like rock star David Bowie's character Ziggy Stardust. According to Consequence of Sound, Mattel says "this collectible Barbie doll honors the cultural legacy of the musical genius who redefined rock and roll." The Bowie-inspired Barbie is dressed in a metallic, multi-colored "space suit" and wears platform boots. She has dark red hair and painted nails. The doll's release coincides with the 50th anniversary of the Bowie hit song "Space Oddity" and is available at Mattel's website and other retailers for $50.
