Beatles fans converged on the real Abbey Road on Thursday to commemorate the 50th anniversary of the day the Fab Four were famously photographed there. Reuters reports that a Volkswagen Beetle was even brought on the scene to recreate the Beetle that appeared in the background of the album cover. Traffic was slowed to a crawl as fans paraded across the striped "zebra"-style pedestrian crossing to snap photos. Scottish photographer Iain Macmillan took just six shots of the band crossing the street on August 8, 1969, with the fifth pic used as the cover of the band’s 11th studio album, released on September 26 of that year.
