On Tuesday, the UK's Royal Mail unveiled a set of 13 postage stamps featuring the beloved band Queen in honor of its 50th anniversary. The stamps, which will go on sale in July, will feature their first studio photo shoot in 1974, plus some of their album covers and images from their iconic live performances. Guitarist Brian May says, “Since we four precocious boys started out on our quest 50 years ago, our lives have been devoted to making our impossible dream come true. Sometimes it’s strange to wake up and realize the position in which we are now held – we have become a national institution!” Reuters notes that Queen will be the third musical group in Royal Mail history to receive their own dedicated British stamp issue, following the Beatles in 2007 and Pink Floyd in 2016.
