"Silence of the Lambs" Spinoff "Clarice" a Go at CBS

A TV spinoff of the the 1991 classic Silence of the Lambs has been given the go-ahead by CBS, Deadline reports. The television network announced the news on Sunday at the Television Critics Association's winter press tour. The drama, called Clarice, technically still needs a formal series pickup to move forward. The project is based on the famous Thomas Harris character Clarice Sterling and would be set in 1993, a year after the events in the movie. It follows Starling as she pursues serial murderers and sexual predators in Washington, D.C. Hannibal Lecter is not expected to be part of the series.
