As promised, one of Tom Petty's long-gestating passion projects is finally about to come to fruition. Pitchfork reports that his 1994 solo LP Wildflowers will receive a deluxe reissue on October 16. Called Wildflowers and All the Rest, the project will include unreleased songs, demos, home recordings, and live performances. To celebrate the news, Petty's official social media channels shared a home recording of the Wildflowers title track on Thursday. The reissue was curated by Tom’s daughters Adria and Annakim, wife Dana, and Heartbreakers bandmates Mike Campbell and Benmont Tench. Back in June, Adria said in a radio interview that the reissue would hopefully arrive before the end of the year. "I don’t want to make any promises or break any hearts, but I think we’re getting really close, and I’m really excited," she said. "We waited so that we could do that in a really beautiful and thorough way... to just really put this masterpiece in the framing that it deserved."
