DAWG provides a safe and loving environment for dogs awaiting permanent adoption, and promotes their adoption through outreach programs in the Santa Barbara community.
Most of the dogs in our care come from Santa Barbara county shelters. Our primary goal is to reduce the rate of euthanasia in the county shelters by providing the medical care and training many dogs need for a second chance at life.
Since DAWG’s inception in 1991, we have worked hard to bring out the best in our dogs, improving their quality of life during their stay at the shelter, and placing healthy, well-behaved dogs back into the community.
Dog of the Week
Bailey is a beautiful one year old female who is ready to meet her forever family. We don't know exactly what breed she is, but we're guessing that she's a mixture of Shiba Inu/Basenji with a little bit of shepherd. She is a happy girl who wants nothing else than to sniff out her surroundings. Once she sees you, she'll welcome you with a big kiss and tail wags! Bailey is great with people both big and small and loves making new canine friends. Though Bailey is eager to start exploring, we'd like her perfect companion to be patient and go slow with her; she has a lot to learn about the world and we are going one step at a time. Think Bailey could be your perfect pal? Please call Dog Adoption & Welfare Group at (805) 681-0561 or e-mail us at email@example.com to learn more on how you can give Bailey the home she deserves.
All DAWG dogs are spayed/neutered, current on vaccinations, microchipped and are given flea & tick protection monthly. They are eligible for consultation with a trainer as needed.
