DAWG provides a safe and loving environment for dogs awaiting permanent adoption, and promotes their adoption through outreach programs in the Santa Barbara community.
Most of the dogs in our care come from Santa Barbara county shelters. Our primary goal is to reduce the rate of euthanasia in the county shelters by providing the medical care and training many dogs need for a second chance at life.
Since DAWG’s inception in 1991, we have worked hard to bring out the best in our dogs, improving their quality of life during their stay at the shelter, and placing healthy, well-behaved dogs back into the community.
Dog of the Week
This boy goes by the name of Justin, he is a 2 year old Rat Terrier who came to us from the shelter in Lompoc. He was rescued with his friend, Isabella, who recently found her forever home with an amazing family. Justin is very friendly with both people and other dogs, and he loves to play and run around whenever he is given the chance. He would make a great family pet and would thrive in a home following a steady routine. If you love long walks or runs, relaxing nights, and cuddle time Justin is the right dog for you! Stop by DAWG, give us a call at (805) 681-0561 or e-mail us at firstname.lastname@example.org to learn more about how you can adopt him!
